Eyeliner for Almond Eyes:
Let’s start with the most common eye shape ‘almond’ eyes. Almond eyes tend to result in your eye shape adopting a beautiful oval form, the top and bottom of your irises are slightly covered by your upper and lower lids. The inner corner of your eyes are pointed in and your outer corners are slightly tapered and lifted upwards. This eye shape may remind you of the Egyptian QUEEN Cleopatra and is a common eye shape amongst Middle Eastern and South Asian women. With an eye shape like this we recommend accentuating the beautiful almond shape by fanning your wing liner up and out at the corner of your eyes and extending your inner eye corner by dragging the liner down to create that foxy eyeliner look!
Almond shape eyes are particularly common amongst Middle Eastern and South Asian ethnicities who tend to adopt more of an olive skin tone and darker skin tone, commonly with a yellow undertone/warm undertone. We recommend our dark liquid eyeliner shade Anyana which is a rich deep brown eyeliner shade perfect for brown skin tones and olive skin tones.
Eyeliner for Downturned Eyes:
Downturned eyes are when the outer corner of the eyes shape downward, common amongst Asian ethnicities such as Vietnamese, Malaysians, Singaporeans and Koreans. Downturn eyelids offer a great canvas for straighter and sharp eyeliner looks, making for the ultimate chic’ length and dimension.
We suggest trying out a vibrant colour for a cutting wing eye liner look. Our fuschia pink eyeliner shade Sharmeen is very complimentary on Asian skin tones of both yellow undertones and pink undertones.
Eyeliner for Wide-Set Eyes:
Wide-set eyes are when the space between the inner corners of your eyes are larger than the width of your eyes. Ethiopian and many East African ethnicities have this type of eye structure. Graphic eyeliner techniques work really well on eye shapes like this, especially dramatic lines that cup the entire lid and focus on the inner corners.
Our beautiful ravishing red liquid liner Wewak is perfect for darker skin tones and the blood orange pigment allows for a statement pop of colour. Pair your Wewak graphic wing liner with a nude lip and you have your Disco glam sorted!
Eyeliner for Asymmetrical Eyes:
Asymmetrical eyes can often be slightly different in shape, as in one might be larger than the other. That is when the art of illusion kicks in with liquid liner! You can magically level out your eyes by thickening out your liquid liner on the lids.
You'll want to add to the mystery and pick a deeper tone liquid liner shade that helps to disguise the size and disproportion of your eyes. We recommend our rich burgundy red shade Rumi which frankly is the new black liner! Très Chic 🍷
Eyeliner for Round Eyes:
You spin me right round, baby right round! Like you would imagine round eyes are rounder in shape and you can usually see the whites of your eyes along the bottom of your irises. Round eyes make for the perfect Edie Sedgwick eyeliner look. Go ahead and buff out your lower lid with a fun 60’s mod moment.
Get creative with colour and apply our vibrant liquid eyeliner Viola! This red hot VIXEN is amazing on dark skin tones, olive skin tones and fair skin tones.
Eyeliner for Big Eyes:
Big eyes are typically larger in proportion to the other features on your face, like your nose and mouth. Many South Asian women can relate to having big eyes and sometimes being intimidated to draw too much attention to them. A great gateway wing for big eyes is to draw a thin line from the inner corner to the outer corner of the eyes and fan out slightly. This will ensure you get a subtle feline flick not a foxy flare.
Our brown shade Elivra is great for pronouncing your peepers in a soft yet sexy way. The smise is real 😏
Eyeliner for Small Eyes:
Small eyes, you guessed it, will appear smaller in comparison to the rest of the features on your face. You may also notice a short amount of space between the tips of your lashes and your brow bone. A little goes a long way with eyes like these, a simple little flick at the corners is all you'll need to look real cute!
With eyes like this you can't go wrong with a simple but immaculate monochrome makeup moment. Why not apply our must have caramel brown shade Bahati which can be applied as liquid liner, a cheek tint and pigment lipstick. Bahati's the kinda gal that can do it all!
Eyeliner for Monolids:
With monolids, you'll typically have no visible crease and also notice that your eyelid is on the flatter side. Your brow bone will typically look less prominent as well. The world is your oyster with eyelids like this, you have the flexibility to go extreme or keep it subtle and smokey with your eyeliner looks. We love working with straight lines and angles on monolids, our tip and trick for applying liquid eyeliner on these lids is to start thin, buildup toward the middle and elongate and thin out.
With such a fierce liner look, we say soften up the defined line with a pretty pigment such as Ishtar, a beautiful terracotta shade which has a rosie pink hint. Stunning on Asian skin tones of both yellow undertones and pink undertones.
Eyeliner for Hooded Eyes:
Hooded eyes tend to have less eyelid space, you also might notice that your upper eyelid may form a crease when your eyes are open.
You'll want to widen and brighten the eye area, a graphic liner that cups the outer/upper eyelid is a fun and 60's mod way of doing this. Try our mellow mauve shade Lolita for the perfect fall liner look.
Eyeliner for Close-Set Eyes:
Close for comfort? Close-set eyes have minimal space between your eyes. Pronounce those pretty peepers in a subtle and chic way by placing a dot underneath each eye resting on the lower lash.
Dot your EYES with our chestnut brown beauty Elvira, which is a warm brown shade with a yellow/warm undertone.
Eyeliner for Deep-Set Eyes:
It's less about shape with deep-set eyes and more about their positioning, which happens to be set further back in your eye socket. Because of this, your brow bone can often appear stronger and overshadow your eyes. It is all smoke and mirrors when it comes to your eyeliner look, create a thin smokey eyeliner that doesn’t have a defined sharp line.
Our Brown Set, which includes Bahati, Elvira and Aynana all make for stunning smokey eyeliners, perfect for dark skin tones, olive skin tones and fair skin tones of warm and cool undertones.
